Wooden Ship Kits

Viking Skib 1066Kit

Arguably the greatest achievement of the Vikings were their ship building skills. The Vikings were not the first people to build ships but they did build the most seas worthy vessels anyone had made up to that time. Daring ocean voyages of exploration led the Vikings to discover Iceland, Greenland, and even "Vineland." Later to be renamed Newfoundland; Canada's most eastern province. Viking ships were unrivaled for centuries. There are records of the Vikings travelling from the Western Atlantic Ocean to as far East as the Caspian Sea along the Western coast of Russia in search of plunder as well as trade. Their ships were unrivalled until the invention of the cannon, and of the great galleons that would carry them.
