This two-masted schooner is an authentic replica of a Virginia-built pilot boat that appeared shortly after the American Revolution. The original Swift was used by the British consul to carry dispatches back and forth to England, and was later formally taken into the Royal Navy. Virginia pilot boats were used extensively on the Chesapeake and evolved into the famed Baltimore clippers.

Artesania #168-485-7 Plank on frame construction The kit features pre-cut plywood keel section and frames, and double planked hull. Blocks and deadeyes are yellow boxwood. Eyelets, bracers, belaying pins, and cabin door hinges are brass, as are the 250 miniature nails you'll use to fasten the hull and deck planking. Accurate plans and pictorial instructions make building easy.
