Designed by G.L.Watson, the Yacht Britannia was built at the request of the Prince of Wales, the future King Edward VII. The design of the hull has lasted the test of time. The rigging plan was modified many times to make maximum use of the massive sail area. To this day Britannia still holds a number of  impressive records.
